Since the transformers with expansion tank are open to the atmosphere, the oil pressure changing due to thermal effects, the air exchange is provided by dehumidifying the air thanks to the clikajel (air dryer) in the transformer tank.
Depending on the load of the transformer with expansion tank put into operation, as a result of the air exchange caused by temperature differences, the glycagel loses its properties over time and causes the oil to moisten and deteriorate its structure. For this reason, it is necessary to perform maintenance such as replacing the silica gel in certain periods and measuring the puncture voltage by taking samples from the oil.
